FAQ
What does Resurrecturis means?
The name Resurrecturis was chosen when the band was just starting out, it's a latin funeral inscription that stands for: "For those about to revive"... It just happened that one night Carlo dreamed of this weird word and we picked it out! We've thought many times about changing our moniker because Resurrecturis is so complicated, people often spell it wrongly and they may don't remember it, but in the end we like it since it is a death-sounding name with a vital meaning to it...

Who are the members of the band?
Over the years Resurrecturis had a lot of trouble with band members, so Carlo has made the decision to remain the only effective band members filling vacant roles with great guest musicians for recording sessions and tours. Too many times during our long existence it has become evident that band members weren’t contributing to the project in a positive way.

Why you put on the Resurrecturis web site all the songs for free download?
Times are changing really fast. The music "industry" is re-shaping in a revolutionary way. File sharing and PC based home recording technologies have drastically changed the situation in favour of the listeners and the musicians. The grip of so called "professionals" and businessmen on music and culture in general is loosing momentum. But they are moving fast trying to restore their reign. Resurrecturis is not against the possibility to make a living through music, neither we are blindly opposed to figures as authors, record labels, etc, but we feel that too often tyrannical business considerations take over art and equal opportunities of expression. We believe this must not happen again. There is a fragile balance that must be maintained between granting to everybody what is due for his work and preventing copyright laws to become a limit for the improvement of people's lives.

Why did you call your second album "The Cuckoo Clocks of Hell"?
Maybe you've heard of a US underground horror movie production titled "Last House on Dead End Street" (1977, dir. Victor Janos aka Roger Watkins). "The Cuckoo Clocks of Hell" was the original working title of that movie. We liked how it sounded and also we intended to pay a small homage to this movie, since at the time of its release it didn't encounter the success it deserved while now people in underground circles are starting to praise it and discover it.

Why did it take more than 4 years to release your second album?
"The Cuckoo Clocks of Hell" was recorded during summer and fall of 2001, and was ready for release at the beginning of winter. During that period the tension within the band had become increasingly frustrating. In a matter of weeks after the record was finished Omar decided to quit. We picked another drummer who was excellent but not committed as was needed. In fact all the members were not so dedicated anymore! During this phase we did some local gigs, but did nothing to release the album. The band was slowly dying. It was a bit of an heartache for Carlo to call it quits in fall 2002, but the situation had got to a point where it was inevitable. After a long pause Carlo called Janos and Omar to restart the band with the old spirit and some new members and finally the album was picked from the shelves, remastered and released.

Some of your songs have English lyrics and some italian ones: why?
We've been the very first extreme metal band to ever write an Italian lyric, "La Paura del Buio", our first demo's opening track, was written in early 1991... We wouldn't say that with our Italian lyrics we ever intended to pay any homage to our mother land. The fact is simply that it's easier for us to express certain feelings and atmospheres in our mother tongue... Lately the English material is taking over the Italian stuff, but from time to time it still happens that some cool Italian lines emerge, so that we may want to use them.

In your CD's you cover a wide range of musical styles: don't you fear this could be confusing for the listeners?
We view our music as a channel through which we can express our inner self... The songs are an immediate reflection of what is going on in our minds, that is why our style shifts all the time from melody to brutality: it's just because at times we are really angry, While other times we are sad or happy or whatever... Our music is sincere and true to ourselves, that is why we have all these different things going on in our works. We ain't here to please anyone except ourselves and we don't fear that the most narrow minded people may find "confusing" a band that is not repeating the same song all the time. We fear boredom way more!! To us it is pretty strange that people keeps asking us such a question because if you listen to the godly albums of the past (Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc) you will hear a lot of different atmospheres going on in the songs. Still you can hear that those bands had a very personal edge to everything they were doing... That is what we are aiming for... We have many different styles in our songs, but you can hear it's Resurrecturis all the time...We ain't "confusing" nor "generic"... We do our own thing!!
